Training Recap and Race Updates

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Training Recap, so I’m pretty excited to get back into it! So, what am I training for?  That is an excellent question…  because, I’m not really sure. This next week should officially start my Richmond Marathon training.  It would be my third year in a row running it, and it is one of my all time favorite races.  BUT, I haven’t signed up yet, and honestly, I’m not sure I will.  Since {Read More}

2016 Blue Ridge Half Marathon Race Recap

Before the Race Race weekend started on Friday when we dropped the kids off at their grandparents, and my husband and I drove down to Roanoke.  Last year when we drove to Roanoke to run the Blue Ridge {Read More}

Weekly Recap and a Big Announcement! #RunBlueRidge

Well, now that the Marine Corps Marathon and the Richmond Marathon have come and gone, my 2015 racing year is winding down… So, what’s next for me? More on that in a minute.  😉 I felt great after finishing Richmond, like best I have ever felt after a marathon…  Still, I took the entire week off following the race.  I didn’t run, even though I was tempted to lace up my shoes every time I saw someone out on a {Read More}

Weekly Marathon Training Recap 9/7 – 9/13

What a week!   I’m a few days late with  my recap, but better late than never, right?! We’ll just jump right in… Monday – Labor Day. We pushed our long run, (usually on Saturday) to Monday because of the holiday.  So the week started with 16 miles.  Not a bad run, but we (my husband and I), got a pretty late start so it was midday and super hot by the time we finished, and our pace was slower {Read More}

Week 3 of training for the Marine Corps Marathon and Richmond Marathon! This was one of those rare weeks that I actually got all of my training miles in! Tuesday – Back on the treadmill for 7 miles.  Now, usually running inside is a great way to beat the heat {Read More}
