Friday Five: A Little About Me

Yay for the Weekend!

Every Friday, a bunch of really great blogs link up with Mar on the Run, Eat Pray Run DC, and  You Signed Up for What?!  for the Friday Five.  This week, I thought I would join in on the fun!  The theme this week is “5 Things About Me.”

Up to this point, I’ve mainly talked about my running, so here is a little more about me…

1.  I love to decorate cakes!  An un-iced cake is my blank canvas.  I used to do this out of my kitchen for friends, but with three young kids that became a little too much.  (All that icing with toddlers, and preschoolers?!  Can you imagine?)  😉   So, I’ve taken a break and I really hope to be able to start decorating again.  Perhaps when the youngest starts school full time…

You can see more on my facebook page.  But I’ll warn you, this page has been sadly neglected for a LONG time!

2.  I love to go camping!  I could happily spend my entire summer living in a tent!  In fact, when I was in high school I did just that.  I went on a camping/hiking trip through some of the National Parks for a school credit.  We got to visit the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, the Badlands, and many others.  I still think that was one of the most awesome things I’ve ever done!

3.  I like to sew.  🙂  I even have an Etsy Shop!  I used to make lots of baby things, but as my kids get older, its hard to get excited about baby blankets and burp cloths.   Although, I hope to maybe add some running items to my shop soon!

4. I have been married for almost 10 years!  (which is kind of hard for me to believe, because I can’t be old enough for that, right?!)  We have three awesome kids, and find that I’m really enjoying them as they are getting older.  Babies are cute, but these little people are a lot of fun!

(I know, it’s not Christmas any more, but we only get a family picture about once a year…)

5. I have a serious addiction to coffee.  I don’t just need it to wake up, I literally drink coffee all day long!  I make 2-3 pots of coffee a day, Two in the morning and one in the evening before bed.  I’m sure its a terrible, terrible habit, but I can’t find it in me to cut back.

And there you have it, 5 things you probably didn’t know about me.  Exciting right?!

Happy Weekend!

Do you like coffee?  How ’bout cake?!   😉

  1. I love to bake and decorate cakes too! I actually listed that as one of my “about me” facts for today’s link up. I stopped by your Facebook page, your cake decorating work is amazing!

  2. We should be besties! I love coffee & cake! Those cakes are amazing! I have always wanted to try cake decorating, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I bet your kids have the best birthday cakes!

    • Coffee and cake, the breakfast of champions!
You should give decorating a try, but I’ll warn you, its rather addictive! 😉

  3. I love coffee, but that’s some kind of crazy coffee drinking! Love the cakes. I’m totally untalented, but luckily my kids have low standards for cake decoration. Congrats on almost 10 years. We’ve been married almost 20 years and I can’t believe it’s been that long.

  4. Right back at you with the coffee thing. It’s a recurring theme on the Friday Five linkup! You are very talented and your cakes are beautiful. Enjoy those kiddos while they’re young. They grow up in an instant!

  5. Those cakes are absolutely gorgeous! <3 Your friends are super, super lucky people! I used to sew, but haven't in a million moons. That's awesome that you're so talented! :]

  6. What a fun list! I like to camp, but I don’t know if I could do a whole summer. You’re brave. I love your cakes too! Not a big coffee fan, but I love cake and cupcakes. 🙂

    • Thanks! Though with kids, and busy schedules, it may be a LONG time before I can more than one or two nights of camping in any time soon… 😉

  7. I just like to eat cake and wash it down with a good cup of coffee. I’m wheat free though so finding a good wheat free cake is sometimes easier said than done.

  8. I LOVE camping!
Those cakes…holy wow, girl! My jaw dropped when I saw the Starry Night one. (One of my fave pieces of art ever!) You are crazy talented!

    • Camping is great, right?! I’d be in it for the S’mores alone…
And, thanks! The Starry Night cake Is definitely my favorite! 😉

  9. The Starry Night cake is too beautiful to eat! You’re so talented with the cakes!
